Currently Available Reagents at the DRSC
The DRSC 2.0 library for genome-wide screening is currently the most commonly used reagent. Approximately 13,900 genes covered (updated regularly). On-site screening only.
The DRSC Validation library covers all gene hits from previous screens (approaching genome-wide coverage). The amplicons cover different gene regions than those covered with DRSC 2.0.
We have a growing collection of smaller dsRNA libraries for RNAi screening that are based on curated lists of related genes. Kinase/phosphatases, transcription factors, and more.
We have a growing collection of UAS constructs for over-expression. In collaboration with the modENCODE group, our primary focus is on non-coding RNAs (including miRNAs).
Search for D. "other species" genes that can be tested for rescue of RNAi (e.g. may be conserved enough to be functional but divergent enough to evade the RNAi treatment). Fosmids available from DRSC and other sources.
Currently in progress, the Transgenic RNAi Project (TRiP) for generation of hairpin fly lines.

Note: To design an RNAi construct for one or a few genes, please visit our on-line SnapDragon tool. For cell lines, see this page. FlyBase maintains a list of other material resources here.
